NEWS:

Today I announce a new department, the "Specialised Distro"; Activity on the PPLUG mailing list this week was all about gateways and firewalls, so let's T.I.C. get them for you! IPCop anyone?

Chris from YOOLK is running his laptop with Ubuntu (and half is office!) and connect it to the internet through his 3g phone over Bluetooth - it's the first time I hear of a full Linux solution with 3g/BT connectivity. Be sure the Tropical Ice Cube will deploy every means necessary to press an HowTo out of this most knowledgeable guy!

These nice people at The Open Institute gave me 20 gorgeous-looking KhmerOS/openSUSE11 cd/dvd combo boxes - they are available for free, to you dear readers! (First come, first served! as usual, text me on 012 561 005 to grab one)

SHOWCASE: Distro Of The Week.

KhmerOS LiveCD+DVD (openSUSE 11) - Most of you may have heard of it, but how many of you ever tried Computing in the comfort of your own language? openSUSE provides here an interesting blend of modernity and stability, with a level of finish that makes Ubuntu look like a student's graduating project. The KhmerOS people pushed upstream to KDE most of the operating system, and you can now browse the web, edit your documents, change your personal settings of this refined, secure system fully in Khmer. The KhmerOS edition of openSUSE11 is available in 2 formats, the LiveCD that you can slip in your computer to try without actually touching your hardware, and the DVD version with all that is needed for the full install of your dream workstation. Enjoy!
